Question From A Reader
"I've just bought some Merino wool and I’m excited to start a new project! However, I don’t know what best showcases Merino. Any suggestions?"
Merino wool is a joy to work with! Its softness and warmth make it ideal for items you want to snuggle up with. Merino's range of weights also offers versatility. It’s exciting to see how different textures emerge, even from the simplest of stitches. Consider projects like:
Luxurious scarves or shawls
Comfy hats
Warm sweaters
Delicate baby garments
The fine fibers of Merino ensure your creations are both comfortable and beautiful to wear. Learn more in this detailed guide to Merino wool.

Useful Crochet Tip
Learn The Invisible Join
"Do you dislike the bump caused by the knot when binding off in the round? Try an invisible join for a smoother finish. After your last stitch, cut the yarn and pull the tail through the stitch. Thread it on a tapestry needle. Pass the needle under both loops of the first stitch in the round, skipping any chain stitch. Then, bring the needle through the center of your last stitch."

It’s lovely to see younger people making crochet part of their life and business! One such University student is Kayla Oatis, and as she says:
“You have to make time for it when you know it’s something you really want to do. Something you know you are passionate about that you can continue doing in the future. Like many things, you just have to set time aside and make time for it, and the more time to make, the more it flourishes.”

Crochet Designs You Can't Miss…
Inject A Splash Of Color Into Your Reading
Lisa's Pop of Color Crochet Book Sleeve is lovely. It's perfect for protecting your precious reads and electronics plus, it’s great for gifts.
The simple button closure and customizable size broaden its use even more!
It uses Lion Brand’s Hometown (100% Acrylic, super bulky weight) yarn and a US N/P-15 (10mm) hook, so it works up fast.
Cute Cat Companion
I adore the concept of Purrlow, a customizable cat pillow from Nele Crochet. Choosing among five cat faces or designing your own is just delightful!
Perfect for gifting or keeping.
It uses light worsted yarn and a 4mm hook. I’d recommend Wool Of The Andes Worsted (100% Peruvian Highland Wool.)
Foxy Fun!
Ashlee Elle of Dream Crochet has outdone herself with this fun Foxy Browne Top. The design is oversized and cropped, making it easy for beginners to tackle.
She recommends using Caron One Pound or Red Heart Yarn, with an H/8 5mm hook. You could also make it in Swish DK (100% Fine Superwash Merino Wool.)
Craft A Frosty Friend
Just in time for the holiday season, I love this adorable baby snowman. Crafted by the talented Tonje Lilleland.
The no sew (except for that carrot nose!) approach makes this project a delight for those with an intermediate skill level.
